Каждый год 27 января город на Неве торжественно печален, молчалив, задумчив. В этот день тысячи петербуржцев и гостей города приходят к местам захоронения жертв блокады Ленинграда. В этот день никто не сдерживает слез, вспоминая страшные события осени 1941 – января 1944 годов. Подвиг Ленинграда и его жителей, выстоявших и выживших во вражеском окружении, не имеет равных в истории человечества. Самое малое, что может сделать современное поколение, — сохранить в сердце и памяти события блокады, не позволить умалить подвиг его защитников, передавать и далее эстафету благодарности и уважения к участникам страшных событий.
Вечер памяти, подготовленный сотрудниками библиотеки имени А.И. Куприна, еще и еще раз возвратит к событиям блокады, еще и еще раз заставит удивиться мужеству и стойкости ленинградцев и защитников города.
