10 августа, в преддверии 80-й годовщины со дня трагических событий — массового расстрела и умерщвления другими способами около 27 тысяч мирных граждан и советских военнопленных в Змиевской балке — сотрудники библиотек Ростова провели в мемориальном комплексе жертвам фашизма памятную акцию «Память сквозь поколения».
На площади Памяти у Вечного огня возложили цветы к мемориалу, прочитали стихи Евгения Евтушенко и ростовчанина Сергея Киселева, посвящённые ростовскому холокосту, почтили минутой молчания память о жертвах фашизма.
Участники акции посетили музей мемориального комплекса.
Погибшие живы, пока о них помнят и чтят память. Нужно сохранить память об этих жертвах и передать её детям и внукам.
